Payments Operations Analyst
The Role You'll Play
At Playlist, we're reimagining how technology can empower businesses in the payments and financial services landscape. As a Payments Operations Analyst, you'll be a critical guardian of our merchant ecosystem, combining analytical prowess with strategic risk management.
- Conduct comprehensive merchant account reviews, applying rigorous underwriting standards to assess financial health and compliance risks
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies that balance business growth with regulatory compliance and fraud prevention
- Analyze complex financial statements, processing statistics, and merchant documentation to make informed onboarding decisions
- Collaborate across teams to streamline merchant onboarding, chargeback management, and operational processes
- Mentor and train team members on compliance protocols, risk assessment techniques, and industry best practices
- Investigate and resolve complex merchant account issues, ensuring exceptional customer experience and minimal financial exposure
- Stay ahead of emerging risk trends, fraud patterns, and regulatory changes in the payments landscape
- Contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting processes and risk management frameworks
Experience You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in payment operations, merchant underwriting, or risk management
- Deep understanding of payment facilitation, compliance frameworks (CIP/KYC/KYB/AML), and financial risk assessment
- Proven ability to analyze financial statements and evaluate merchant account risks
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively
- Demonstrated expertise in chargeback management and mitigation strategies
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interfacing with diverse stakeholders
- Adaptable problem-solver with a proactive approach to learning and professional growth
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and risk management tools

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
The base salary range for this position in the United States is $52,000 to $70,000 . The total compensation package for this position may also include a performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans
