Lead Product Manager — Booker About the right team member

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Product Manager to define and execute the product strategy for Booker, a mission-critical platform powering thousands of Spa, Grooming, Beauty, and Wellness businesses.

This may be the role for you if…

  • You thrive in environments where modernization + growth must be balanced — strengthening the foundation while driving product value.
  • You enjoy working deeply with legacy systems, untangling complexity, and shaping a clear path toward scalable, reliable, data-driven experiences.
  • You’re excited by Spa/Grooming/Beauty workflows and the nuances of POS, memberships, staff management, consumer booking, and multi-location operations.
  • You can zoom out to define strategy across verticals and zoom in to solve root-cause problems in reliability, compliance, data integrity, and performance.
  • You identify and prioritize work that yields high ROI, including payments attach, reducing churn risk, and focusing on the highest-PMF customer segments.
  • You believe the best software is built through tight collaboration with Engineering, Design, Research, GTM, Support, and Customer teams.
  • You like to ship early and often, validate with real merchants, and eliminate unnecessary complexity.
  • You consistently seek feedback and use both data and qualitative insights to turn good solutions into great ones.
About the role

As Lead Product Manager for Booker, you will own a critical portion of the product portfolio across core SaaS workflows (e.g., POS, Memberships, Scheduling, Reporting) and platform foundations (reliability, data, payments).

  • Define and drive a multi-year product strategy for Booker that strengthens system foundations, protects revenue at risk, and accelerates growth in high-PMF Spa/Grooming/Beauty segments.
  • Build and maintain a coherent, defensible roadmap aligned with Booker’s modernization goals, platformization with Playlist.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design to modernize and simplify complex workflows, reduce tech debt, and improve reliability, performance, and data integrity.
  • Lead initiatives that unlock revenue-driving levers such as membership improvements, POS modernization, payments attach, and improved reporting/analytics.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Booker’s customer base — single-location salons to multi-location spa chains — and ensure their needs translate into insight-driven product decisions.
  • Define and measure success metrics across reliability (Success Rate, latency, errors), adoption, retention, churn drivers, and revenue impact.
  • Collaborate with Support, Sales, and CS teams to ensure smooth launches, high-quality rollouts, and clear communication of product changes.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Finance, Compliance, R&A, International, and Platform teams as Booker evolves into a more unified Playlist ecosystem.
  • Manage complex execution dependencies across squads and systems, ensuring the right sequencing between foundational work and customer-facing improvements.
Skills & experience
  • You are a seasoned product manager with a proven track record of shipping impactful, user-loved B2B SaaS products, ideally in mission-critical or high-volume operational systems (POS, scheduling, memberships, CRM, or payments).
  • Experience working with legacy systems, modernization programs, or complex domain workflows — and a demonstrated ability to simplify and rebuild for scale.
  • Strong technical and analytical acumen; comfortable diving into system behavior, data inconsistencies, performance issues, and architectural trade-offs.
  • You can independently define, query, and interpret data using tools like Snowflake/EDW, Sigma, SQL, dbt, or similar.
  • Experience working with or adjacent to payments, billing, compliance, or financial systems is a strong plus.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing engineering, design, CS, Sales, Finance, and executive stakeholders.
  • You exhibit strong customer empathy and have excellent product intuition grounded in real data and real user behavior.
  • You’re experienced with agile discovery and delivery, iterative development, and collaborating across full-stack engineering squads.
  • You have 6–10 years of product management experience, with at least 3-4 years working on complex, high-stakes systems or platform-level components or in core B2B environments.
What sets you apart
  • Systems thinker: You connect the dots between POS, payments, scheduling, data, reporting, and consumer experiences to build a cohesive product strategy.
  • Foundation-first mindset: You understand that reliability, data integrity, and compliance must precede surface-area expansion.
  • Operator mentality: You balance product ambition with real execution trade-offs and drive clarity in ambiguous or legacy-heavy spaces.
  • High ownership: You lead with urgency, accountability, and a bias for action, especially when solving merchant pain or revenue-critical gaps.
  • Platform orientation: You design with reusability in mind, anticipating alignment with the Playlist Payments Platform, CRM/Lifecycle systems, and international requirements.
  • Strong communicator: You bring clarity to complexity and align cross-functional partners around outcomes, not output.
