About Me:

I'm a male born in Miami, Florida but now living in Pembroke Pines, Florida. I am the oldest of six children of my family, four boys and two girls. My parents are of West Indian descent from the very beautiful and now dangerous island of Trinidad in the West Indies. I say dangerous because of the high rate of crime as displayed in the country's newspaper websites, The Trinidad Guardian and The Trinidad Express. Still, my countryfolk and relatives call that island their home and I must respect them for their loyalty, patriotism and bravery. I graduated Miami Central Senior High back in June 1988. I took some requisite courses in Miami-Dade Community College North Campus. I was paying my tuition on my own through a job as a ramp aircraft electrician in the now defunct Florida West Airlines cargo company. When Eastern Airlines went on strike, my employer dismissed me for a more experienced electrician (a striker from Eastern!). I joined the U. S. Coast Guard to continue my journey of life. I was stationed aboard Cutter Hamilton (WHEC-715) then out of Boston, MA and then Cutter Spencer (WMEC-905) currently also out of Boston, MA. I worked in the engine rooms learning a lot about marine diesel engines, and gas-turbine (aircraft style jet) engines. I then came down to Base Miami Beach as a Systems Manager position for the base's computer system. I left the Coast Guard after 10 years with an Honourable Discharge to give civilian life a try. If I didn't get out, I guarantee I'd be on another Cutter braving the oceans, the drug traffickers, the illegal migrants and rescuing folks from a vessel sinking and many more that the ocean life can offer for excitement! That's my history, now for the present: I like to listen to my cd collection of modern rock, alternative, grunge, industrial, rave, techno, dance, old school freestyle, classical, opera, pretty much anything but ghetto rap. I love attending the Cirque du Soleil performances when they're in town or if they have a permanent performance location like in Orlando or in Las Vegas (which I would like to visit someday). My concerts that I've attended to ranges anywhere like Yanni (saw him twice), Phil Collins, KMFDM, Sisters of Mercy, Ministry, Sarah Brightman from the original Phantom of the Opera (saw her five times), Sophie B. Hawkins, Tori Amos, Josh Groban (saw him twice), Lord of The Dance, River Dance, Trans Siberian Orchestra and a few others. I'm into philosophy, meditation, family relationships, bicycling, watching any kind of movies, walking the malls, trying out different restaurants, going to fairs/carnivals, and just simply staying home watching TV with some good food and drinks. I am a very broad minded man. I partake in many activities other than Jaguars. I'm very humble. Jaguars are not a status symbol to me but symbols of a racing legend and of historical significance. My Jaguar collection is strictly a HOBBY. By no means am I extremely wealthy but I am doing fairly well. By the way, I work as a Bus Mechanic for Broward County Mass Transit in Fort Lauderdale, FL and 12th of April 2007 will be my THREE year anniversary of working with the County! I LOVE my job!!!
I absolutely LOVE the Jaguar automobile marque! I own quite a bit of a collection but am quickly running out of space at my house. I own a 1966 Jaguar Mark X saloon. She needs restoration. I own a 1995.5 Jaguar XJ6. I own a 1995 Jaguar XJR parts car which is kept for my collection's crown jewel, my 1997 Jaguar XJR. I also have a 1980 MGB convertible. She needs restoration. I feel that I don't have enough time to do all the things that I want to do and still get any sleep since I work nights and sleep days. UPDATE: I just bought a 2002 Jaguar XKR 100 convertible. This means the 1997 XJR has been demoted as the fleet crown jewel! But wait, there's more! The convertible will be getting a sister, a 2002 Jaguar XKR 100 coupe, the same but a hardtop version! What fun they are to drive! These XKR 100's are COLLECTOR'S ITEMS! The XKR 100, both convertible and coupe, and the XJR 100 sedan were made to celebrate what would have been the 100th birthday of my hero, Sir William Lyons, the founder and creator of Jaguar Cars Ltd, Coventry, England, GB. Jaguar built only 500 of the XJR 100 sedans, to which I may add to my collection at a later date. Jaguar specifically allowed 250 XKR 100's to be built but specified whether coupe or convertible by the purchaser before it rolled off the assembly line. So, being that Jaguar did not say there will be a certain number of coupes and certain number of convertibles, it turns out that the convertibles to reach the U.S. shores were more popular in new car order requests totally a number of 220 cars, despite having a $98k sticker price. On the other hand, the coupes were not as popular, therefore of the 250 allowed XKR 100's, only 30, yes I say again, 30 coupes were ever built on this Earth, and I happen to now own one of them! They are both in great shape and to be honest, I wondered how could I allow myself to drive anything else before? The silky smooth power, the faint V8 roar and the supercharger whine just gives me a woody, to be blunt! If you drove one of my XKR 100's, you too will experience the thrill only a select few can savour!
