Shattered my left arm in over 24 places... have a five inch titanium rod in my left lower forearm, two pins through my elbow, two titanium plates in my upper arm on each side of the bone with 10 screws. They also had to cut an inch of bone off the end of my upper arm where the bone came out the back of my arm, through the pads on my suit and into the blacktop. The bone drove into the blacktop with enough force that it actually pushed blacktop up inside the bone and they couldn't clean it out so they had to cut the end of the bone off.
I'm recovering... still in a cast... and will start therapy in six weeks... and should be able to be back to normal by the spring... all things considered I was lucky and am doing really well.
