I am a single mother of two boys. I am also a full time honors worthy nursing student, a part time biology lab assistant, and a paid research intern for the Center for Community Research at my college. I have recently discovered that I have a talent for writing and an interest in the social sciences,particularly anthropology and sociology. I enjoy reading, writing, camping, fishing, carpentry, art (specifically sculpture), yahtzee, blogging, and spending time with my family and friends. I am the president of my college's sociology club. I have an alternative myspace page dedicated to a group I founded to advocate for peace and non-violence starting with my own community and working outward. I believe that peace is obtainable through justice and equality for all. My main focus is issues of poverty, oppression, domestic violence, child abuse prevention, and education. Peace is achieved in such simple ways. We can illuminate the world by just sharing a smile with a stranger who passes by. Our attitudes can be passed on in our daily interactions with one another
