Music Interests

Favorite Music Artists:
As a fan of music, I find questions such as "What is your favorite Song/Artist/Group?" etc. etc. rather silly. Music, good music evokes different moods, emotions and taught. As Human Beings, our emotions and moods tend to change constantly, every day, every hour, every minute. There is so much good music from all types of styles, from every era, from different parts of the World and all kinds of walks of life. To say , "I listen only to...", or " This is better than that" is limiting to your growth as an intelligent human being. We are all entitled to our opinion, but what i am saying is give something a chance before forming an opinion. , With that said. It would be much easier for me to list the styles of music I do not like. I tend to stay away from the mainstream, anything on rotation on commercial radio or MTV. Reggaton, Emo, and bad Pop music. Those are the three I have not found anything I can appreciate. I won't go into detail here on the whys, because that would take too long. Oh. and I hate The insane clown posse, also most Nu-Metal. , Now, to the likes. As a child my mother would play Beatles records along with many other styles of music, from southern European folk music , to stuff like the Bee Gees, and ABBA and Rock & Roll and Classic rock. Growing up in the NJ/NY area i was exposed to all kinds of music. Around the age of 10, I received my first radio as a gift from my Grandfather, I would sit for hours listening to music, on all stations. I soon discovered a radio station, that may have been responsible for my tastes in music today...WLIR. They played New Wave, Punk, and Experimental stuff, early industrial, and EBM. I soon began buying records, trying different things out. Discovered stuff I would have never learned of on mainstream radio. I also began going to shows a few years later. I would take trains and buses to record stores. I had many friends who where older and they also introduced me to new music. My Grandfather listened to guys like Dean Martin and Sinatra along with classical music and Opera. , So, my tastes in music have been influenced by all of this. Today, I still listen to all of these genre, I still seek out new, innovative and interesting music. I am very much into dark wave, power noize, and most of the branches of industrial and electronic music. I try to listen to music everyday, after-all, Life would be very dull without a soundtrack.
