When Everything In My Life Was Turning Into Shit, He Was Always There To Makes Me Feel Better. This Morning, I Almost Killed Myself. Then I Read His Comments And Replyed To His Message And My Day Got So Much Better. I Smiled. It Feels Like Years Since I Smiled Last. There's Been A Lot Going On In My Life And I Didn't Think I Could Handle It. He Was There For Me. He's The Only Person In This Fucking World That Doesn't Think I'm Annoying And Doesn't Hate Me. I Give Him A Lot Of Thanks For Everything He's Ever Done For Me. I Feel Like I'm Writting A Will. Or A "Goodbai Forever" Note. (Not Meaning To).

Beltane-(Fertility And Dance Holiday)

by fiarypink on February 7, 2008

Beltane Is Celabrated On May 1st.

The lighting of a community Bealtaine fire from which individual hearth fires are then relit is also observed in modern times in some parts of the Celtic diaspora and by some Neopagan groups, though in the majority of these cases this practice is a cultural revival rather than an unbroken survival of the ancient tradition.

Wiccans and Wiccan-inspired Neopagans celebrate a variation of Beltane as a sabbat, one of the eight solar holidays. Although the holiday may use features of the Gaelic Bealtaine, such as the bonfire, it bears more relation to the Germanic May Day festival, both in its significance (focusing on fertility) and its rituals (such as maypole dancing). Some Wiccans celebrate 'High Beltaine' by enacting a ritual union of the May Lord and Lady.

Among the Wiccan sabbats, Beltane is a cross-quarter day; it is celebrated in the northern hemisphere on May 1 and in the southern hemisphere on November 1. Beltane follows Ostara and precedes Midsummer (see the Wheel of the Year).

Ostara (Equinox Of Day And Night)

by fiarypink on February 7, 2008

Ostara is on the day of the Vernal or Autumnal Equinox. Around March 21-23. It's the balancing of the earth's gravity midway between the extremes of light and dark at Winter and Summer Solstice. Day and night are equal on this day.

Etymology: The name Ostara goes back to Jacob Grimm, who, in his Deutsche Mythologie, speculated about an ancient German goddess Ostara, after whom the Easter festival (German: Ostern) could have been named. Grimm's main source is De temporum ratione by the Venerable Bede. Bede had put forward the thesis that the Anglo-Saxon name for the month of April, Eostur-monath, was named after a goddess Eostre.

Wiccan Festival: Ostara is one of the four lesser Wiccan holidays or sabbats of the Wheel of the Year. Ostara is celebrated on the vernal equinox, in the Northern hemisphere around March 21 and in the Southern hemisphere around September 23, depending upon the specific timing of the equinox. Among the Wiccan sabbats, it is preceded by Imbolc and followed by Beltane. In the book Eight Sabbats for Witches by Janet and Stewart Farrar, the festival Ostara is characterized by the rejoining of the Mother Goddess and her lover-consort-son, who spent the winter months in death. Other variations include the young God regaining strength in his youth after being born at Yule, and the Goddess returning to her Maiden aspect. Ostara is the virgin Goddess of spring. This holiday concerns the deity's trip to the underworld, and their struggle to return from the Land of the Dead to Earth. When they accomplish this return, they have a life renewed. It was considered bad luck to wear anything new before Ostara, so the people would work through the winter in secret to make elegant clothes for the Sabbat celebration. The entire community would gather for games, feasting, and religious rituals while showing off their clothing.

Imbolc. (Midpoint Of Winter And Spring)

by fiarypink on February 4, 2008

Imbolc is conventionally celebrated on 1 February. In more recent times the occasion has been generally celebrated by modern pagans on Feb. 1 or 2. Some neopagans relate this celebration to the midpoint between the winter solstice and spring equinox, which actually falls on Feb. 4 or 5. Since the Celtic year was based on both lunar and solar cycles, it is most likely that the holiday would be celebrated on the full moon nearest the midpoint between the winter solstice and vernal equinox.

Yule (Sun's Birthday)

by fiarypink on December 22, 2007

Winter Solstice/Yule is the longest night of the year. It is a Pagan holiday, when the return of the sun is celebrated, as the days are about to get longer. At this time, there is a battle between the Holly King & Oak King, in which the Oak, repesenting lighter times, will win.
