My Version of It’s formed in 2000 in New Castle, DE by founders and former Year of the Comet band-mates Jared Morris and Dave Grind (Oprichniki). My Version of It features Jared Morris (voice/guitars) Dave Grind (drums) Jon Grunes (bass/vocals) and Matt Schmidt (guitar) In an age of dull pop and contrived copycats, My Version of It bring Authenticity. Though songwriter Jared Morris lists bands like The Cure, R.E.M., The Smiths, Warren Zevon, My Dad is Dead (and other Ohio Indie Bands) amongst his favorites, his often open guitar tunings and slicing vocal delivery, Grind's math-precise drumming and energy, along with Schmidt's skilled leads and Jon's bass and vocal contributions and punk sensibility rank MVOI as true originals.
