Song not unavailable??
Posted by kimmimet 40 weeks 1 day ago
Why does half of my playlist songs say "song unavailable" and they just don't play. I just checked and when I search for example Metallica songs or Down songs, they're all "unavailable"??? WTF is going on?

Did you already remove those from your playlist because I'm not seeing them on your list?

There are a lot of files showing up as unavailable. Most of my main playlist actually. Is there some legal issue where these files are no longer going to be available? It's not some copyright issue is it? Given the generally lower quality of music files here I have been buying some of the new music I've discovered via this site to get the higher quality. This is a great way to generate sales and to remove content would be a mistake.

I have the same problem: tons of songs are showing up as 'Unavailable'. What the hellespont is that supposed to mean, and how do I correct it!????

mart9012 and tobsucht666,
There are several unavailable link messages.
The first type, "!!Unavailable Link.(song name)" with a red background, can be due to a temporary communication problem between your location and the location of the host file, or it can indicate that the link is for content that the artist (or artist representative) may have specifically limited the availability of. These only show up if the 'show broken links' is enabled.
The second type, "Unavailable.(song name)" with a gray background, means that the content has been limited by the artist (or artist representative) to where it can be streamed; seeing this unavailable message indicates that your location is not one of the locations authorized by the artist/artist representative.
For temporary communication problems the message should clear up on its own, typically within a day or so; for others you can just remove those links by going to the Manage songs page (My Playlists -> select the playlist that contains the songs/links with the unavailable link message -> click the Manage songs tab/link) and click on the delete "x" located to the right of the song -> save the changes).

I'm getting this problem too. Half my playlist is now greyed out Unavailable. What's happening? One or two make sense, not this many.

so this actually means that this site is going down!right?!
and an award wont solve this!
if almost anything on our playlist is unavailable, then why should one keep visiting this site?!
sounds like the end to me.
facebook...myspace...the artists themselves.
i dont see a future for this right now.
really sad,loved the website.

will they impose copyrights??? that's the big problem, especially for hit singles in the playlists, I hope you can do some action for that.

In reply to TheHomiePPL what you said doesn't really explain why over half the songs on your website no longer work, if you just try and search a song you will see that almost every link to that song is unavailable. so what's wrong with every thing?

The fact is, the songs are out because the copyright owners said they don't want their songs to be available here.
Period.
Just find new songs from other authors that don't mind having their songs here, or just wait till arrangements are made.
That's what I plan to do.
