In summer 2006 André Siegemund (Bass) actually wanted to find a buyer for his
bass-amplifier, with the help of Eric Berger (Vocals). But instead finishing their
being as musicians, their musical frustration led to the project „CO:A:LEST“ and they
found more comrades in Jan Zeman (Guitar) and Lorenz Kreye (Drums).
In spring 2008 the band released their first demo EP „Prototype“. The limited edition
of 50 copies ran out fast, but the free download at the official myspace website still
gives the fans the possibility to get one.
Since they played concerts in Saxony and Berlin the number of listeners constantly
grows. The highlight of course was the performance at the „Titans of Metal“ Festival
in 2008, when Coalest performed as supporting act for „Exilia“ (Italy).
Also a few radio stations, like „Metal-Only“, „Radio 99.3“ or „Radio NSR2“ played
songs from „Prototype“.
In autumn 2008 the band decided for a cooperation with the label „Build a Nation
Records“ and therefor the got Mario Dahmen („Liquid Aether Studio“) on board. He
already worked together with Alan Douches, who was responsible for the mastering of
Sepultura. A new EP should be published in 2009. Until then Coalest will be seen
in some smaller clubs and surely at one or two festivals in summer. At the end of
2009 and the beginning of 2010 also a tour all across Germany is planned.
