General Info:

Hi! My name is Clara McVille. (You probably knew that already.) But who am I? Well, that's a difficult question for any of us to answer. So how about what have I accomplished that makes me "me"?

Ever since I was old enough to form words, I've been over-dramatizing them. Ever since I was able to carry a note, I couldn't stop singing. When I was 5 years old, my parents saw the opportunity to let me release some of my creativity through community theatre, and therefore brought me to Playhouse 1960 in Houston, TX where I landed my first role in a musical. It was "Beauty and the Beast". I was a feather duster with a purple satin off the shoulder dress that I remember vividly. I sang. I danced. I was hooked. After that, I did every play, musical and every acting/dancing/singing workshop I could get my hands on, including many at ACE Theatre in Spring, TX. By the time I was 15, I had done about 25 plays (many simultaneously) and many of them were lead roles.

In high school, I continued theatre and also joined the choir, and I became a member of the "Campus Singers" at St. Pius X (Houston, TX), a more select group show choir. When I was 16, I decided to take it to the next level and go into film acting. So, I got an agent! Immediately, I started doing TV commercials, print jobs, short films, features, you name it. After high school and now with a pretty decent resume under my belt, I headed out to Los Angeles. It was to be my City of Angels to guide me to do what I love to do. I immediately signed with Osbrink Talent Agency, and really pushed for a film career.

After about a year of being in California (on my own at age 18 mind you!) I came back to Houston to visit my parents. When my dad picked me up from the airport he told me I was to sing a song the next night at a little restaurant called Puffabelly's in Old Town Spring. He peaked my interest when he wouldn't tell me why, just that I had to do it. Trusting him, I sang "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood. I was then approached by Mary Minter of August Music International who informed me of her close friendship with Gary Katz, producer of Steely Dan and others. I was thrilled by her compliments and ecstatic when Gary flew into town from New York City and auditioned me! He conceded that we should make an album. So here I was living in L.A. with a NYC producer telling me to come to Houston and get ready to see my music director in Atlanta and then go to record in Bloomington, Indiana. Whew. That's a lot of planes.

I eagerly raced home and threw all my stuff in storage, having no idea when I'd be back in L.A. For the next 4 months, I lived out of a suitcase. Liberating, actually. After finishing my album, now called "Facets", I flew back to Houston on Halloween, 2008. I had a lot to consider. I finally came to the conclusion, that against my desire to be in Hollywood where I felt so in my element, I needed to make yet another sacrifice for my career. I bought an apartment in Houston and had all my stuff shipped. So, now I am forming my fan base from my hometown, like Gary urged me to do. I guess I can't argue with someone who clearly knows myriads more about the business than I do!

Currently, I am performing around Houston with my new live band. I will be releasing single by single off of my album online (and hopefully soon on the air!) before the full album is released in stores. I am planning on going on tour next year and then hopefully after that I will be able to live where ever I'd like! I do love Houston, don't get me wrong y'all! Just need to spread my wings a little. I'm not really the sedentary type.

So, that's me. All summed up. Kind of. But if you want more and you want some insight to things going on in YOUR life, you should check out my blog and GET CLARAFIED. ;)

Thanks for reading!! Un beso.
