First Blog of 2009!
by C.D. the AZN on March 6, 2009
Would you look at that? It's been a little over 2 months since I put a blog here. Anyways, not really personal to report for now, so I'll just have fun with this. The recently new episode of Family Guy showed like 2 weeks ago, and there are a couple of clips that I really enjoyed, like the Stewie's music stuff. But what I really like is when Brian killed Stewie's idea of making a song for the Swanson's new baby, Suzie (Brian is my fave character btw). Anyways Brain listed a crap load of songs name after a girl so I'll do the same in his order, along with more that my friends asked me for:
Rosanna, Roxanne, Michelle, Allison, Sara, Angie, Brandy, Mandy, Gloria, Cecilia, Maggie May, Jessica, Nancy, Barbara, Billie Jean, Layla, Lola, Polly, Helena, Jenny from the Block, Sherry, Laura, Wendy, Maria, Peggy Sue, Minnie the Moocher, Tracey, Jean, Jane, Marie-Anne, Eleanor Rigby...those were Brian's list
Rosalita, Bernadette, Donna, Janie, Beth, Clementine, Ruby Tuesday, Lucille, Nikki, Valerie, Rae, Kim, Caroline, Candy, Veronica, Amelia, Kelsey, Natasha, Peg, Isabel, Amanda, Yvonne, Charlotte, Sofia, Hayley, Melissa, Emaline, Kate, and Karen...my made up list
There ya go. It's not all of them obviously, there is more (like the girls from Mambo #5). And of course there is a link that my friend found (http://www.popculturemadness.com/Music/Girls-Names-Songs.html). If you thought this was stupid, then whatever I don't care, it was just an idea. Get over it. Until next time.

One Year Later...
by C.D. the AZN on November 11, 2008
On November 10, 2007, something wonderful happened. It all started at Sierra Vista at our final marching band performance of the season at Sounds Across The Valley.
A couple of bad things happened, like my friend Sean had kidney stones and he had to go to the hospital, so that sucked. And the other thing comes later.
Anyways, after our performance we were in the stands watching other bands perform. My friend Wilson is talking to me about something going on. And I'm like okay what's going on. A couple minutes later, he sends me a text saying "I know who has a crush on you." I have no idea what he's talking about and I didn't really think that anyone liked me like that. Then he says "You have three classes with her." And I think to myself "Katelyn?! There's no way she likes me. I mean she tried to ask me to homecoming because of friends just joking around, but I knew that wouldn't happen." And then Wilson says, "She's in our Japanese class." I thought I had an idea, but I still didn't have a clue.
A couple hours later(here comes the other bad but funny thing), we didn't make finals, but we still stayed to watch. Also, I agreed with my friend Gabe to watch over the other band members go to the bathroom. So we wait until the last guy, Jeremy, is done. And when all three of us walk back we see this water bottle just in the parking lot, with a bus approaching. And Jeremy with his "brilliant idea" says, "Wait guys, this will be hilarious." And so we watch, and just when the bus drives over the bottle, the bottle just explodes with the water all over me, Jeremy, and Gabe's arm. Gabe sits there laughing at us with Jeremy and I completely wet. "I'm going to kill you Jeremy" I said out loud and
repeatedly.
And so all three of us go back telling the band what just happened. And I'm pissed but laughing at myself. And my friend Deairre walks up to me and asks me "Do you like Kristine?" in a tone sounding like I'm gonna kick your ass. And I respond by asking him, "Why? Do you like her?" And again he asks, "Do you like Kristine?" And I just told him, "If you like her I'll back off." And he said, "No, you don't get it. She really likes you."
And from that moment, when I heard the news, it struck me hard. Filled me with emotions: nervousness, anxiety, surprise, excitement, but unfortunately because of it I couldn't eat, I couldn't think, and my legs went numb for a couple of hours. And to ease up on the devastation, I hung out with Gabe, Kelsey, and Katelyn for the rest of finals. The info had to make me think about what was going on right now, what decision did I have to make? After thinking long and hard (he he), I finally made a choice.
I had to tell her how I felt, too. After all, I did have good times with her along with trying to drop some clues, like refusing to go bowling unless she wanted to go(and then when we did go I hugged repeatedly, but I guess she didn't care. LOL.), hanging out at Kelsey's halloween party(but didn't want to say anything to her), all those dancing rehearsals for her debut(I mean come on, I was the best dancer without a partner!), and then being kinda jealous at those dance rehearsals cuz she was kissing her boyfriend in front of me(no offense to Daio). And I thought I made those pretty clear, but also I had a feeling she dropped a few hints too like when she sat next to me on my instrument case in jazz band and actually accepted my hugs, but that's all I noticed.
After she learned that I was told, she felt shot down, discouraged, afraid to talk to me. I could see it in her when we were in the stands, avoiding eye contact with me and hanging with Ben, Wilson, and Michael. She thought I would avoid her, but that wasn't the case.
We came back to the school and she's still avoiding me. So I knew I had to make a move. Kelsey and Gabe told me that I should go for it and I did. She ran out the door and I had to catch her. "Kristine...I heard what Deairre told me and...I like you too." Once I told her my feelings, her face was filled with joy and relief. And I was really surprised that because after I hugged her, it seemed like all my friends knew from the start. But anyways from that very night, we began a closer relationship. Today marks my one year anniversary with Kristine and I still love her very much. Everyday we're still learning from each other, strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, and all those things. I'm just glad I didn't screw up this relationship and we were able to keep it together. Kristine, if you're reading this, I promise to make it up to you when I get my license because I know that you wanted to spend this day alone with me. Mahal Kita. ~Christian
11/06/08 was a good day : ) (FOR ALL THOSE BAND GEEKS OUT THERE)
by C.D. the AZN on November 7, 2008
Well, to start off this has to do with marching band. Today was the official last day of the Spring Valley Marching Season. As some of you know, I love marching band a lot because I become fit due to all the moving around, I gain major leg muscle, and it's better than concert season where we just sit down in chairs for 8 months while playing music. And this year is my senior year (Go 2009) which meant that it was the last time I would march at high school. Today we went to our last competition at Sam Boyd Stadium, wanting to do the best we can. We were always told "This is our last performance, give it everything you have. Pretend this is the last time you'll ever get to play. And don't screw up because this is a televised event!" And also for 4 years, we have never beaten a tough rival of ours, Shadow Ridge. So it was important to all the seniors in the band to at least beat them, but also hopefully get first place. So we performed our show and everything ran smoothly and after everyone was happy and tired at the same time saying they did there best or "left it all on the field" as we like to say. For the awards ceremony, this was a special time because the drum majors, section leaders, and section leaders were asked to be on the field. And this hasn't happened in the past years I was at Sam Boyd so I thought this was a kind of final hurrah for me. So we went onto the field, got our award, did our salutes, and just for fun some of us ran around the field for one last time(thinking we may never be there again) just acting silly and such. Right before the bus ride home, our drum major told us that we came in 3rd in our division(which was great), but also told us that we finally beat Shadow Ridge(which was something that no words can describe except "4 years" or "20 shows"). The weird thing was we lost to another school in our division(us 3 schools are in AA btw) which I never thought would reach us, Durango. It occured to me is that they must have improved because over the last 2 years, they got last place at every competition. But I didn't care that they beat us, only that we beat Shadow Ridge. I haven't received word on our score and rating yet, but if we beat those guys then I'm hoping we got superior. So yeah, this day was a good day and a great way to end the marching season
For Danielle
by C.D. the AZN on October 4, 2008
I was just informed by Danielle's brother, Alias, that Danielle has died. She was hit by a drunk driver and wasn't able to recover from her injuries. Danielle died on September 20th. Let this be a reminder to everyone that the horrible tragedies you see on TV can happen to you too. Don't assume it's never going to happen to you. Just be careful out there. It just PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH THAT PEOPLE STILL HAVE THE NERVE TO STILL DRIVE EVEN WHEN THEY'RE DRUNK. THOSE KINDS OF PEOPLE ARE LOW-LIFE, INCONSIDERATE, IRRESPONSIBLE JERKS. I HOPE THAT DRUNK DRIVER IS SENTENCED FOR LIFE. Danielle, I can say that you were a great friend. Even though I didn't know you that long, it was nice to know that you a band geek just like me and into music like everyone else. I'm sure you've left a great impact on your marching band and I'm sure they'll miss you. I pray that you're family will heal as time passes by. Once again, thanks for being a great friend and hopefully you're watching us from heaven.

The greatest story ever! You gotta read this!
by C.D. the AZN on July 29, 2008
This is a joke that I heard when I 1st became a high school band geek my freshman year. Thank you Sean 4 telling me this. Well, I hope you like it! By the way this is also known as the purple flower joke or the 20 minute joke, but it just depends on how fast you can say the story.
So there's this guy walking to school and on his way there he sees these two girls talking to each other. He drops in on their conversation and hears them talking about a purple flower. He thought to himself "Purple flower?" and stops to think about it. 10 minutes later, he realizes he's late for school and runs as fast as he can. So he gets to class and the teacher asks him, "Why are you late?"
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls talking about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, and now I'm here!"
The teacher replies, "What?! Purple flower?! You're going to the Dean's Office!" So the guy goes to the Dean's Office. The dean asks him, "Why are you here?"
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls taling about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, the teacher sent me to the Dean's, and now I'm here!"
The dean replies, "What?! Purple flower?! You're going to the Principal's office. So the guy reports to the Principal's office. The principal asks him, Why are you here?"
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls talking about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, the teacher sent me to the Dean's, the dean sent me to the principal, and now I'm here!"
The principal replies, "What?! Purple flower?! You're expelled from the school! So the guy leaves the campus and heads on home. When he arrives, his father asks him, "Why are you here?"
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls talking about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, the teacher sent me to the Dean's, the dean sent me to the principal, the principal expelled me, and now I'm here!"
The father replies, "What?! Purple flower?! I disown you!" Now get out! So the guy leaves his house. While walking down the street, he notices a hobo. He approaches the hobo and the hobo asks him, "Why are you here?"
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls talking about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, the teacher sent me to the Dean's, the dean sent me to the principal, the principal expelled me, my dad disowned me, and now I'm here!"
The hobo replies, "What?! Purple flower?!" The hobo grabs a knife from nearby and stabs himself in the chest. So the guy freaks out and looks for help. He notices two cops in a car at the donut shop and says "Officers, I need help! That hobo committed suicide!" The officers said, "Calm down, slow down, and tell us why you're here."
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls talking about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, the teacher sent me to the Dean's, the dean sent me to the principal, the principal expelled me, my dad disowned me, the hobo killed himself, and now I'm here!"
The officer replies, "What?! Purple flower?! You are under arrest! We're taking you jail." So the guy runs away from the police. As he crosses the street, he gets hit by a car. (Moral of the story: look both ways before you cross the street. Tee hee...just kidding the story doesn't end here but be careful on the streets). So the guy goes to heaven and is approached by God. And God asks him, "Why art thou here my child?"
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls talking about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, the teacher sent me to the Dean's, the dean sent me to the principal, the principal expelled me, my dad disowned me, the hobo killed himself, the cops were chasing me, I was hit by a car, I was sent to heaven, and now I'm here!"
The Lord God replied, "What?! Purple flower?! How dare you say such blasphemy! I condemn you to Hell!" So the guy is sent straight down to Hell and meets the Devil. The Devil asks him, "Why are you here?"
The guy says, "Well...I was walking to school and heard two girls talking about a purple flower, stopped to think about it, and realized I was late to school, the teacher sent me to the Dean's, the dean sent me to the principal, the principal expelled me, my dad disowned me, the hobo killed himself, the cops were chasing me, I was hit by a car, I was sent to heaven, God sent me to Hell, and now I'm here!"
The Devil replies, "What?! Purple flower?!......Wait right here." So five minutes later, the Devil returns and asks him, "So do you even know what a purple flower is?" The guy answered, "No. I don't get what the deal is." The Devil told him, "Well, a purple flower is a 20 minute joke with no punch line."
And there ya go. This was the purple flower joke. If you are pissed at me 4 wasting ur time reading this rubbish, I'm sorry yet want to laugh at you at the same time. Trust me, once you've learned this story, you'd probably want to get some suckers with this story yourselves. So yeah, at least some good came out of it. Right? Well, thanks 4 reading and ROCK ON!
My 1st Blog (It's a poem)
by C.D. the AZN on June 25, 2008
This is a poem I wrote in my 10th grade world literature class. Here it goes! By the way it is entitled "Divided"
The power of light and dark,
Has split me into two.
Two personalities in one being,
Have many possibilities on what to do.
On the bright side I can see,
The happier moments in things.
Graduation, dances, friends,
The giving of engagement rings.
Hiding in the shadows of shame,
Learning the fragility of life.
How easy it is to be taken away,
By simply using a knife.
Spring brings forth new beginnings
Like animals, people, and plants.
Love is everywhere you look,
Showing compassion and romance.
Night brings forth darknes,
Light never escaping its fist.
Creeping gloom is all around us,
Leaving all but a shadowy mist.
The sun is shining brightly,
Smiles I see through my eyes,
But knowing their fears and guilt,
I see faces full of lies.
Candles are lit in remembrance
Of those who meant a lot.
The fire from the candles can also
burn all those who were distraught.
Trust is a powerful trait
Meant for faith between us all.
But satisfactions of evil destroys it
And causes us to fall.
I walk on the road of accomplishment,
Victories and good intentions in mind.
But found on the boulevard of broken dreams
Are unforgiving destruction and crime.
Looking at life from both perspectives,
From the point of darkness and light,
Thinking about the things that can happen,
Whoa...it even gives me a fright.
Well, there you go. Hopefully it was good enough. Remember the last time I wrote this was 2 years ago. Please criticize lightly and once again, I hoped you liked it!
