The name is Ashes- I am my father’s daughter I am a daddy’s girl and I am in the business of working things out. Though my years have been few my experiencing has been great. Mature in many ways, but still a young woman in many more ways. I am a devoted, passionate and ambitious lady raised in a very large family.
If they say that your home is where your story begins, my story’s beginning lies in the deserts of the South West. A legacy, a place, a town... my home is called Big Water Utah.
Many people come in and out of light in and out of life in this story, many days, many roads Ashes walking many roads. I have walked many roads in the same thirteen streets that are Big Water, Utah. Walking? Walking is breathing. Walking knows all that is Ashes, memories moments and little places. Walking the thirteen streets of my home town knows everything from laughter to tears, over thinking, hurting, anger and fear. This place is my home, but these streets are my sanctuary and they are my comfort. My friend. My history, my present, and my past.
My passion is Music and I have decided recently it is what I’m going to dedicate my life too. I have been playing piano since I was a child. I lost music for a time in 2006 after a brain injury, but regaining it was my light. I am self taught and chose to begin teaching others at only thirteen years old. My Passion’s Dream is to open a school of music where lessons can still be taught one on one by many teachers, teaching many instruments, and teaching everyone. Despite what levels my musical talent is at or will someday rise to: Music is and will forever be my passion. Listening to music, creating music, composing, learning music, teaching it, playing it, performing it… Living Music.
I take my ideas, dreams and whims and make them something real in my mind by writing. Letters, prose, imagination, experiencing, flowing my ink is my freedom. Captured inspiration.
In my spare time, I am an amateur photographer. I make moments a forever that I can hold in my hand, peering at endlessly and pondering. Photographs.
I graduated high school in 2010 when I was sixteen and started college. I am an online student at Weber State University out of Ogden, Utah. In the meantime, I am a store clerk at a gas station/convenience store called “Lake Powell Mart” in Greenehaven, Arizona. It’s only a ten minute drive from where I live.
My family is the foundation upon which I was able to grow into a person. They are the support, the love, and the ones who have enabled me to become all I dream to be. I am the youngest of eleven children and have nearly fifty nieces and nephews. Our ability to stay strong with one another despite our many numbers and being spread so many places is a blessing. My parents, siblings, their children, and my time with them mean everything to me.
I love despite differences and focus on strength.
My friends have come tall and short in all shapes and sizes from all places of this beautiful.. beautiful world. They are humans who have made their fair share of mistakes and we have had our problems in the past. Friendships in my life are not chosen by age, height, or weight. I know these people for who they are, not what they are. Dreaming, hoping, believing, personality. I invite you to start a friendship with me. Let’s discover all we have in common.
A promise from Ashes is not one of success or failure, but one of effort. I do not count on the future enough to bet on what can and cannot be accomplished. I can only put forth the effort.
Beauty is all around you if you can open your eyes and heart to it. I live each day seeking and seeing the potential for beauty in every person, place, and thing. I find it, create it, build it and love it for what life is.

I believe in the Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ. I am a believer for the hope that God might actually exist, and for the fear that he might not. My religion and beliefs are not what constrain me, restrict me, decide for me, nor do they set boundaries to who I love and how I live. They are what set me free to live each day and take each step with all of my heart without regret.
Each and every person has a story, even if it’s just one day of life in this beautiful planet called Earth. Our seconds total to minutes. Just a few minutes in time can shape all you will be forever. Those minutes will become hours, hours days. Weeks. Months and years.... Life.
